WHO WE ARE LOOKING FOR
We are looking for individuals who show leadership potential and believe that there is
no specific personality profile or background that predicts success in the
classroom. Your potential as a fellow can shine through whether you’ve led your student
government, managed a complex project at work, achieved academic honors, or rallied
support for a cause that’s important to you. And those are just a few of the countless
experiences most fellows bring to the table.
To apply to the fellowship, you will have graduated or will graduate by September 2020
with at least a bachelor’s degree. You will have a strong academic record and share a
commitment to our vision, and be willing to work in Debre Markos and Bahir Dar area for
a minimum of two years. Selection is based on your ability to demonstrate the
competencies that we believe are an important indicator of your leadership potential.
HOW TO APPLY
The first stage of the application process is for you to complete our online application
form. If successful, you may be invited to a telephone interview to further assess your
motivations for joining Teach For Ethiopia. All successful applicants will attend an
Assessment Centre where you will meet the Teach For Ethiopia team in person and
have the opportunity to demonstrate your suitability for the Fellowship through a one-
on-one interview, a group task, and a teaching exercise. If successful at Assessment
Centre, you will be made an offer to the Teach For Ethiopia leadership development
fellowship. This offer will be conditional on your university transcript, references and
your potential to lead and teach in a classroom one of our teaching subjects:
Mathematics, Information Technology, and English.
